Thanks for the comment,el.Pat Griffinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10294124976259446788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790832884400143603.post-17711747694807432612008-01-29T17:49:00.000-05:002008-01-29T17:49:00.000-05:00Just wanted to let you know about another great ne...Just wanted to let you know about another great news story from 2007: Mills College succeeded in passing a national soccer rule change to protect collegiate student-athletes from harassment, specifically homophobic, racist, and sexist language, behavior and conduct. <BR/><BR/>In response to a collective effort of Mills student-athletes, coaches, athletic administrators, and senior officers, both the California Pacific Conference (NAIA) and the NCAA Soccer Rules Committee acted to make explicit the authority and expectation of officials to penalize those who engage in "hostile or abusive language or harassment that refers to race, religion, sex, sexual orientation or national origin, or other abusive, threatening or obscene language, behavior or conduct."
