Anybody can open a gay friendly space around the Olympics. XTRA was reporting his would be an official IOC endorsed space. This is a disappointment. I wonder if Skate Canada is behind this rejection????Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1790832884400143603.post-89432777583546631642010-02-11T09:30:58.396-05:002010-02-11T09:30:58.396-05:00Hi Pat,

I’ve been a filmmaker and educator for many years and have recently dedicated most of my time to making queer animations for kids. I just released my newest short called THE GIRL BUNNIES. HOCKEY. Philosophically I believe in promoting queer awareness in sports as well as queer awareness in general through the positive. Whenever I show kids the happy goofy stop-motion stories they always see the “happy” first and they don’t get stopped on the fact that it’s two girl bunnies that want to kiss. They see the hockey game and sing the songs (even though the songs are queer). I love that young children know what’s important.
I’ve posted a Hockey song and a couple of Dyke songs on the CBC Radio3 site.
http://radio3.cbc.ca/bands/Francoise-Doherty

Francoise Doherty, Montreal Canada

PS…Thanks for the blog, it’s fantastic.The Queer Review Adminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11655307248022938394noreply@blogger.com
